Sacramental Programme

Jesus spoke to them... 'and know that I am with you always; yes, to the end of time." (Matthew 28:20)

At St William’s, we believe the Sacraments are special moments when we can experience God's love in a real and powerful way. They are guided by the Holy Spirit and help us to grow in faith as part of God’s family.

In Year 4, we work closely with our parish and families to support children on their sacramental journey. Our staff and parish catechists lead sessions that help children learn more about their faith in a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment.

As part of the Liverpool Archdiocese, we follow the ‘With You Always’ sacramental programme. This helps to prepare children and their families for:

  • The Sacrament of Reconciliation (First Confession) – celebrated during Lent
  • The Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist (First Holy Communion) – celebrated in June

The programme is inclusive and open to all. Even if a child is not baptised as a Catholic, they are still very welcome to join in the preparation sessions and receive special blessings as they take part in this important faith journey with their classmates.

Our aim is to make this a joyful, meaningful experience for each child and their family, as they grow closer to God and become more involved in the life of our school and parish community.
