Live Simply Award
At St William’s, we are proud to have achieved the CAFOD LiveSimply Award – a recognition of our school community’s commitment to living out our faith in practical and meaningful ways.
The LiveSimply Award invites us to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, who lived a life rooted in simplicity, compassion, and care for others. It’s more than just a project – it’s a journey that helps us take action on the social and environmental challenges we face in our world today.
Inspired by Catholic Social Teaching, the award helps us to respond to the call to care for our common home and for our local and global neighbours, especially those most in need.
As a school, we worked together – staff, children, families, and parish – to take action in three key areas:
- Live Simply -We take time to slow down, reflect, and pray – appreciating the beauty of God’s creation and strengthening our relationships with each other and with God.
- Live in Solidarity -We care for those in need, both locally and around the world. This might be through fundraising, food collections, or simply showing kindness and understanding.
- Live Sustainably -We take steps to look after the environment and reduce our impact on the planet, so that future generations can enjoy the world God has given us.
Working towards the LiveSimply Award has helped us grow not only in awareness, but in action. From eco-projects and prayerful reflections, to charity work and community outreach, our school continues to live out this mission each day.
We are committed to continuing our LiveSimply journey, always striving to be good stewards of creation and people of compassion, justice, and faith.
