Our Parish Family

We are proud to be part of a vibrant and welcoming parish community that is always growing and changing – just like our Catholic faith. Our close partnership with the parish plays an important role in the life of our school.
The roots of our parish go back to 1780, when the first Catholic chapel in Ince was opened. Over time, this led to the formation of the parish of St William, with a church building constructed in 1908. In 2018, the parishes of St William (Ince), St Patrick (Hardybutts), and St John (Standishgate) came together to form one united parish. More recently, in July 2024, St Mary’s Church (Standishgate) also became part of this growing parish family.
Our parish is now known as St William’s Parish, based in the heart of Wigan, and is served by our dedicated priests, Father Paul Grady and Father Hugh Donleavy.
Many of our pupils and staff are active members of the parish, attending Mass at the weekend with their families. We also celebrate Parish Mass in school every Thursday afternoon, bringing our school and parish communities even closer together.
