Faith In Action

At St William’s, we are proud to offer our Year 6 pupils the opportunity to take part in the Faith in Action PIN Award as an extra-curricular activity.

This award is a fantastic way for our children to put their faith into action and explore how living out the Gospel can shape their lives and the lives of those around them. The PIN Level is the first step in the Faith in Action journey and is designed to fit naturally within the life of our school, encouraging children to work together as a group.

Through this award, children are invited to reflect more deeply on their relationship with God and how this relationship calls them to serve others. As they grow in faith, they begin to recognise that they are part of a wider faith community, where people of all ages are also walking their own journey with God. This sense of community inspires them to reach out and make a difference.

Each year, our Year 6 group design their own service journey, which might include:

  • Volunteering at school events
  • Supporting local and global charities
  • Organising harvest food bank collections
  • Leading prayer and liturgy, including the Stations of the Cross
  • Preparing and delivering our Travelling Nativity Boxes to families during Advent

Along the way, pupils take part in reflection points to help them think about how their faith is growing and what it means to live out their beliefs in everyday life.

The Faith in Action PIN Award helps our children to see that even the smallest acts of kindness and service can be powerful expressions of faith. It nurtures confidence, compassion, and a deeper understanding of what it means to be a disciple of Christ in today’s world.
