Our Mission
At the heart of our Catholic Primary School is our Mission Statement:
"By following Jesus' example, standing side by side, we will nurture each other to fulfil our hopes and dreams."
This is more than just a sentence—it’s a living expression of the Gospel values we strive to follow every day. Rooted in the teachings of Jesus, our Mission guides everything we do—from the way we learn, to the way we treat each other, to the way we serve our wider community.
We also celebrate and cherish our Children’s Motto:
"If you can dream, you can achieve it."
This inspiring message reminds our children that their hopes, supported by faith and community, are achievable through effort, belief, and love.
A Shared Journey of Faith and Purpose
In 2015, we came together as a whole school community—staff, governors, parents, parishioners, and most importantly, our children—to write our Mission Statement and School Aims. It was a true reflection of who we are and who we are called to be as a Catholic school. We didn’t want this to be words on a page—we wanted it to live in our hearts and our actions.
Our school art displays, assemblies, and classroom life all celebrate and reflect our Mission. Every part of our curriculum is shaped by it, and we ensure it continues to guide us by focusing on one of our five school Aims each half term. Children are recognised and celebrated for the many ways they live out our Mission in their daily lives.
Celebrating 150 Years of Mission in Action
In 2024, as we marked our 150th anniversary serving the Catholic community in Ince, we used this special milestone to reflect deeply on our Mission. We asked our children, families, staff, and governors: Does our Mission still speak to who we are and the values we live by? The answer was a resounding yes.
Our children told us they love, know, and understand both our Mission Statement and their special Children's Motto. The wider community agreed it still captures the spirit and purpose of our school. However, in reflecting on life today, we updated the objectives under each aim to better reflect the world we live in noware proud to be part of a vibrant and welcoming parish community that is always growing and changing – just like our Catholic faith. Our close partnership with the parish plays an important role in the life of our school.
Living the DREAM
Our five overarching Aims remain the same, forming the acrostic DREAM—a word that reminds us not just of our own hopes and aspirations, but of God’s dream for His Church and His people.
Each half term we focus on one of the DREAM Aims. Children are encouraged to live them out in their learning and relationships—and we celebrate and reward these moments with the help of our Mission Statement Ambassadors. These children help highlight where God's love is being lived out in real, practical ways.
D – Develop trusting relationships
We see this when children comfort a friend, include others in play, or show kindness without being asked. Trust is built through honesty, care, and compassion—just as Jesus taught. Staff regularly share examples with children of how these trusting relationships are forming and growing.
R – Respect, love and forgive all
Our children live this out daily by showing respect in lessons, offering forgiveness on the playground, and welcoming each other with love—especially those who may feel left out or alone. These values reflect the heart of Jesus' teachings.
E – Encourage curiosity and confidence
Children are encouraged to ask questions, explore new ideas, and believe in themselves. Whether it's wondering about God's creation in RE, or experimenting in science, they are supported to grow in confidence and faith.
A – Aspire to be the best we can be
We help children recognise and develop their God-given talents. They are reminded often that being their best means becoming the person God created them to be—full of potential, faith, and love.
M – Make a difference by working together
Through charity work, eco projects, and acts of service, children experience the joy of making a difference in our community. From collecting for food banks to participating in local events, our pupils know that by working together, they can reflect God's love in the world.
Our Mission isn’t just something we say—it’s something we live, every single day.
Let us continue to walk in the footsteps of Christ, as we DREAM big, love deeply, and grow together in faith.
